Shamanism Explained – Learn The Roots, Modern Uses and Techniques!

Shamanism is an ancient spiritual pathway, still practiced worldwide, with roots going back an estimated 30,000-50,000 years.  No matter what your family roots, chances are high that your distant ancestors engaged in some version of this practice.

Shamanism – most simply, the ability to communicate directly with spirit-plane guides and then put their helping information to good use –  is still practiced throughout the world today.  Details of its practice have shifted throughout time to keep pace with the world in which we live.

Renna Shesso has been practicing shamanism since 1988.  At this meeting she’ll be speaking about shamanism's roots and history, about techniques and modern uses of shamanism, and about how this path both parallels and differs from meditation and some other practices.  As an activity, there will be a brief shamanic “journey” accompanied by drumming.  We’ll then move on to questions and answers.

Renna Shesso is a shamanic healing practitioner and teacher.  She offers training in all aspects of shamanism, from beginning-level workshops to advanced, professional-level techniques. Her healing practice, begun in 1991, offers various forms of shamanic healing, including soul retrieval and the extraction of misplaced energies.  She is also a reader and teacher of Tarot.  Shesso is the author of A Magical Tour of the Night Sky and Math for Mystics, and an independent researcher and writer.  You can find more information at

I do have a problem with 'ill natured sprites' and there was a notable relief when the drum beat reached them my previous experience with shamanic journey had a much slower drumming which was more meditative but this acted almost as an exorcism I will look into furthering the experience

Loved the way in which the rapid drum beat gave the fool in me the uplifting understanding that the shaman is not a joke
