My Life has changed since I have started a daily meditation practice 14 years ago. More balance, more acceptance, deeper relaxation, just a feeling of “now I am looking in the right direction”. The new direction is that I am now taking responsibility for all of my experiences, thoughts and emotions. When something seems to go wrong, of course the first tendency still may be to blame someone or something not being the way it should be. But now with the meditation practice, the remembrance kicks in instantly "what does this have to do with me? What's my part in it? What in me causes the suffering such as frustration, anger, disappointment, fear, anxiety and so on. What are my beliefs and concepts, what is the image about myself, who do I believe to be, how do I believe I should be?” Staying with these kinds of questions in a meditative rather than analytical way makes all the difference. It makes it so clear that all forms of negativity arise from within, just triggered to become visible through events. So this is the purpose of the group. It is for everyone and anyone who is ready to not blame outer circumstances any more, but instead to bring all the attention to transforming oneself, accepting oneself, including all the apparent flaws that are the humanness we all live with. We are practicing with two basic modalities. One is the silent sitting, which is a way to learn to observe oneself and everything in the moment without judgment, leaning to witness, like a mirror, just reflecting oneself, whatever the inner state may be. As a help we oftentimes use breath awareness along with this process. The other modality is so called active meditations, which encourage and allow the conscious expression of all kinds of energies that we may find within us. Dance, celebration, anger, joy, craziness, running monkey minds, movement, harmonizing sounds, inner questioning...But still, in the end there is always a period of silence without any expression or interference to what is. Just being here now. Other classes and workshops include Feldenkrais, The Work of Byron Katie, Tai Chi, Chi Gong, Hiking Meditation, Memory Training, Inspirational Movies and much more. Come and join us for the inner journey! Lifesurfing is surfing with the unpredictable waves of life, the ups and downs, enjoying the ride, the adventure, while also being in contact with the depth, the silence. Just like a lake where the waves, the surface can be enjoyed for play with some practice, and in the deep waters there is still always silence at the same moment. Being in contact with both at all times, is a practice that leads to deep fulfillment and feeling of balance.
