I hear NBC Channel 6 wants to come out to the beach tomorrow morning while we do our morning practice ... want to join us?

6:15am - 7:30am

Get the day started in an Om'licious way! Join me on the beach at sunrise to practice a series of yoga exercises known as Surya Namaskar, or Sun Salutations. This combination of asanas has been created to bring overall balance to the being by stimulating the endocrine system, working with one's own energy centers, or Chakras.

Inspired by the various styles of yoga, we begin with pranayama, then a brief warm-up, and then dive right into the flow as we journey through the Chakra system. Yogi Tea will be served when we're done.

You want to know how to live a strong, healthy, lengthy life?
Want to know how to rise above the heavy vibes of stress, fear and even anger?
Want to know how to know yourself better and understand what you really want in life, your purpose...?

All of these questions get answered when we begin to work with our Chakra system and apply the techniques into our daily lives. When we bring awareness to our own energy, it responds. It is miraculous!

Bring a yoga mat, towel, cushion, blanket and anything that makes you feel comfy. It's early in the morning and it tends to get windy, so you want to be warm and protected.

*if rain we cancel

"Submit to a daily practice. Your loyalty to that is a ring on the door." -- Rumi

Sun Salutations, or Surya Namaskar are a classic series of linked yoga movements, or flow, that stems from the Vinyasa system of yoga, and are excellent for developing flexibility, strength and vitality. This sequence of seven variations on this basic sun salute practice was designed to stimulate each of the chakras, bringing them, and you, into perfect harmony with your life's purpose.
Traditionally, the Sun salutation practice is done in the morning as a prayer in motion to the life-giving powers of the sun.

Listen to the salutation to the dawn,
Look to this day for it is life, the very life of life,
In its brief course lie all the verities and realities of our existence.
The bliss of growth, the splendour of beauty,
For yesterday is but a dream and tomorrow is only a vision,
But today well spent makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
and every tomorrow a vision of hope.
Look well therefore to this day.
Such is the salutation to the dawn.

What Is Kundalini?

The awakening of kundalini means awakening of inner knowledge.
According to Hindu philosophy Kundalini is a concentrated form of prana or life force, lying dormant in chakras in the body. It is conceptualized as a coiled up serpent (literally, 'kundalini' in Sanskrit is 'That which is coiled.' Sanskrit kund, "to burn"; kunda, "to coil or to spiral"). The serpent is considered to be female, coiled up three and a half times, with its mouth engulfing the base of the Sushumna nadi.
