Rodenticide: More than just a rodent killer

Thank you to everyone who joined! Let's meet at 7 pm at Central Market on North Lamar at the indoor food court. Based on the number of attendees, the weather, and majority requests, we'll decide if we want to remain inside or go outside. This is a fairly casual meetup. Feel free to grab some food and something to drink. Also, no need to study or bring anything to take notes with. I'll provide you with a handout that you can take home.

I have pet ratties!! (As well as five dogs and a ferret.) Please explain more about the subject this month. Thanks!

People often set out rodenticides to kill the rodent who is not the welcomed pet. Unfortunately, there is no clear warning that this will affect all mammals. So, when their pet inadvertantly ingests it, the pet owner is unaware that this is a true emergency. The AMA is pushing for more clear labels on the packaging bc the product is tasty and children often get into the product as well.

We will discuss the different forms of rodenticides, why they can be a "silent killer" (i.e. the pet got into it a few weeks ago), what to do if your pet is in contact with it, what to do next. I hope that this clears things up!
