Visit the "zip line" park in Bern

Hi everyone,

If you didn't do this with MeetUp last year, now's your chance! This is a lot of fun. But there are some rules, a test must be taken (online is possible) and then there is some on-site practical instruction.  It is not cheap but you can climb and do the zip lines for a few hours.

For full information, go to www.ropetech.ch (they have an English site). Payment is only with Maestro, PostCard or cash. It will absolutely save time if you read the instructions online and then take the test - after successfully finishing the test you can print out a confirmation that you should bring with you as proof that you have done this. (Note: this is required every year even if you have been going to the rope park for ages.)

If the weather cooperates, we could go down to the river afterwards for a swim and a BBQ.  More information on that as the date approaches.

Just a few hints: wear sturdy shoes or hiking sandals. I also recommend wearing at least a short-sleeved shirt as we will be hanging onto ropes.  If you have long hair, pull it back as it will have to go under a helmet and you don't want it catching on the ropes anyway. Bring a minimum of stuff as no bags are allowed on the zip lines. There is a place to leave small things. See you then!

It was a really good time! Thanks to everyone - especially the 3 who hung around a bit giving us support. The 5 of us who did climb and swing through the trees really appreciated it.

The weather forecast for Thursday is good so I'll see you there! I cannot find any one-time-use grills so if you want to have food by the river, make it a sandwich. Bring your swim gear too.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
