Monthly Meetup: Staying Fit While You Sit

Join us on Thursday, February 7 when Dr. Michelle Kotkin will lead a discussion on the dangers of desk jockeying, and what we can do to avoid the hazards of our trade. An expert on the subject, Dr. Kotkin will provide us with options for stretching and exercise on the job as well as ergonomic and work station tips.

Also, community members and Squidooers Aaron and Joey will demonstrate their DIY standing desks - come and try them out for yourself! (Aaron may even start using his again just for the occasion.)

Don't forget to RSVP so that we know how much pizza to get and, as always, feel free to bring your own beverage.

Never been to a meetup at Bright Cowork?

The Bright Cowork space occupies the entire third floor of the Bright Center on the Oldtown Mall in Winchester, VA.

The closest parking is the Braddock Street parking deck ($1/hour).

After parking, walk South along Indian Alley until you come to the back of the Bright Center (it is a big yellow building - you can't miss it). Once in the building, walk up the flight of stairs to the third floor or, alternatively, take the elevator to the third floor.

Great presentation! Ergonomics is something we all need to think about but rarely practice. It is nice to be part of a group that actively participates in the presentation. Bravo everyone (even Joey)! The only negative was the screen used for the presentation. I would suggest soliciting everyone for donations to purchase a larger LCD TV that can be mounted to the wall. I would be willing to donate $25 and would solicit the same from the WordPress Meetup group.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
