MelbDjango Kickoff Meetup

Hello Djangonauts!

We're happy to announce our first Meetup at Common Code's Codeshop (www.commoncode.com.au). Beer and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks will be provided and are generously sponsored by Common Code.

Proposed Schedule:

6:00 - 6:30: grab a beer/munchies and meet your fellow Djangonauts

6:30 - 6:45: Daryl A will give a quick talk about Common Code and how they use Django to solve their client's problems

* 5 - 10 minute break *

7:00 - 7:15: Colin R will present on the best places for a beginner or intermediate or experienced developer to learn more about Django

7:15 - 8:00 (or so): This is a first-come first-served opportunity to show off your latest project on the projector, pose a question to the audience etc.  If we don't have any takers, we can pull from a list of a news items and discuss those. The idea is to get a bit of discussion going, so come armed with things you'd like to talk about!

Location, location, location:

114 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford. We are right at the courner of Hoddle and Gipps and are a 1 minute walk from Collingwood station on the Hurstbridge/South Morang line. Look for a sign in the window with developer types inside!

    Thanks for the awesome meetup last night all - super informative. Sorry I had to bail early - life duties intervened, but super keen for next month and hoping to see a lot of you at PyCon :) JV

      All good, glad to have you! There will be at least a couple Common Coders at PyCon (myself included).

    Yeah I echo these sentiments - great meetup. I'm hangin out in #MelbDjango on freenode if anyone wants to chat/chill. If it's technical stuff related to django though definitely keep that in the official #django channel.

    Thanks for the great response, everyone! Please make sure to update your RSVP if your plans happen to change (and save the date for the next one in June).

    For everyone on the waitlist: Meetup will automatically add you to the guest list if a space opens up.
