MelbDjango 3.0 - Post PyCon Catch Up

MelbDjango 3!

Shooting this out from a session at PyCon, so apologies in advance if there are any small mistakes. It's great to see the Melbourne Python (and especially Django!) community so well represented down here in Hobart!

We're on again this month with another set of great talks at the Common Code Codeshop! Come by at 6pm for a 630pm start to the talks.

This month, we've got three great talks lined up for you:

Testing Django Performance
Nick Moore (

Salty Servers Taste Better
Sebastian Vetter (@elbaschid)

Exploring the Dark Corners of Django Permissions
Jacob Haslehurst from Gizmag (@hzy_)

Plus we'll have MelbDjango stickers for everyone that hasn't grabbed one in Hobart this weekend, and some drinks/light snacks before and after the talks.

Last thing: We've set up a mailing list for future communication -

Finally, I got my act together and put my slides up as well: There's also a sample vagrant configuration in the corresponding github repo if anyone is interested:

Great crowd and presentations. I wish I could stick around for longer. I was hoping to hear all the talks if they started on time. Will absolutely go again.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
