June Meetup

Andrew Jones will be presenting a talk on Functional Reactive Programming using bacon.js -- based on some client work he did in Sydney. Join Andrew through the journey he took to realise how cool FRP is, and see for yourself how easy it is to use (relatively) and how it will simplify particular cases where promises and callbacks become really messy.

Also, Mario Rogic and Daniel Stankevich will be presenting DuckOS, a PaaS Operating System and Toolkit that lets you go from unboxing to deploying on a Raspberry Pi in two commands. They'll run through a number of simple applications utilising an RFID card reader, Bluetooth LE beacons and a Big Red Button that show how easy it is to take your development fu to hardware hacking land with Node.js.

Pizza and beer provided. Please RSVP so we can get the numbers to order pizza against. (And to make it fair, please *don't* RSVP if you don't plan to come -- we're not limiting the RSVP number so don't worry about running out of space)

The entrance to the building and lift to level 23 will require access card. Please call Fendy at[masked] to gain access.

Great meetup! Enjoyed both talks and love where DuckOS is coming from: getting things done especially for newbies. Hope you guys get some good support but in order to support it we need a link! (did a quick search and sadly couldn't find it)

Great meetup, thanks all. I just tried to get a ticket to the Melb NodeSchool at https://ti.to/nodeschool/melbourne-june-2014 and I got an error page from paypal w/ the message: 'This transaction is invalid. Please return to the recipient's website to complete your transaction using their regular checkout flow.'

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
