Easter Camping with the dogs at Ah Young's.

Ah Young's is a beautiful spot in the Buckland Valley that I visited in December 2011.

My plan is to do a few short walks, read a book and splash/swim in the Buckland River. Maybe a drive into Bright and/or Harrietville to visit some museums for some research. Naturally, Buster and Chelsea will be with me.

There are no facilities except grass to camp on and a drop toilet.

From the roundabout at the intesection of Great Alpine Road, Mount Buffalo Road and Buckland Valley Road, travel south on the Buckland Valley Road. Mobile reception is ok at Porepunka but I got none at Ah Young's.

The camp location on the map is slightly incorrect. It is further south, accross the river, turn left and it is where the words on the map say State Forrest.

I am not expecting many to be free to join me, but if anyone is comming I can arrange to be in Porepunka at 11am and again at 5pm if they are worried about finding the campsite.

Great weekend away, plenty of exercise for the dogs and the humans! Great company and conversation, thanks Dave for organising it!

    100% attendance!

There were a total of four of us. Two people, Sheena and Peter are in the Over 45's Camping Group. We also met a nice couple who allowed us to share their fire.

Just wondering if that spot is going to be busy this weekend?

It is quite a large paddock, so I am not too worried.

Going to QLD for Easter and have a broken foot so unlikely to manage any walks for a little while. Camp sounds great fun. Enjoy.

Yea, a lot of people do the the family thingy or other, at Easter. Not expecting any interest because of time of year. That's ok I really wanted to visit the area again. :) There is another spot that I'd like to check out down past Phillip Island. Dogs, Canoeing and 4x4. I'll have to look for it again.
