Woofers winter walk!

Hi Woofers,

It's time to return to Fawkner Park for a fabulous winter frolic!

First reserved in 1862, Fawkner Park is named after Melbourne's co-founder John Pascoe Fawkner and remains substantially unchanged from its original design.   The park is 41 hectares in size.  Features include: two art-deco brick pavilions, circa 1930s; paths lined with Moreton Bay fig, elm, poplar and oak trees; and a good off-leash area for our four legged friends which is well away from roads and other dangers!  I hope you'll join us for a fine Sunday morning frolic.

Cheers

Kate and Harry

Will give this a miss with all the rain, the boys are not fans of rain and I haven't got a rain jacket each for them yet!

I'm thinking of coming along without my dog, is that okay? :D

    • Kate

Yes, that is completely fine, Diana. There are always plenty on dogs to pat!!

Hi Kate, will the event go ahead if its raining?

    May 30, 2013

    • Kate

Hi Linda, yes the walk will go ahead even if it is raining. My general philosophy is that Melbourne weather is so unpredictable that the walks are held at the scheduled timed regardless of weather conditions or bad forecasts. If it is raining or horribly cold on the day, bring warm clothes and an umbrella...If it is really awful some people choose not to attend. I will always rock up with Harry, regardless of the weather. Sometimes the rain passes, or it is just a light shower, and then the sun comes out and it is lovely! Cheers, Kate

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the weather is nice, unfortunately my two 'princesses' (both boys!) are not fond of wet weather and will not enjoy themselves at all if it's raining.

By the way, the photo shows me with Razza, a GAP greyhound. He is not my dog. He did my Animal Assisted Activities course last year, which is part of the Dogs and Psychotherapy project that I have set up. It's a nice pic. But it's not Chance.

Hi everyone, I have just joined. I hope to ask a friend to help me with Chance because I might need my wheelie walker. I am working my way towards being able to walk her, having had two hip replacement operations. I would also like to mention to those of you interested in training (if that's allowed) that I am professional dog trainer, with a lot of experience. I run Wagging School, offering reward-based training at an indoor venue in Richmond. Happy to talk to anyone about group or private training, and offer members a10% discount.
