Foodie Experimentation - take 4 @ L'Epicerie in Elsternwick.

Bonjour Foodie Experimentators,

Due to the success of this event we have decided to have two Foodie experimentations at the same time, this one at l'Epicerie 256 Glen Eira Road.

At l'Epicerie, your host will be Eugene, our Frozzie Food and Wine Ambassador...

For the fourth Chapter of our experimentations, following up on comments, and trying to address some budget and timing issues for everyone we will this time experiment a 6 course degustation menu, featuring 4 savory and two desserts. Plus a couple of cleansing surprises...

As usual, all dish will be prepared especially for the occasion by our chefs who are getting more and more inspired by your feed back and comments. We will take into account all your feedback from the first three dinners we just had.

All recipes will be created by Chez Olivier's Chefs for the occasion and we will all debate about them, take notes, comments and "critic"...

We will offer the matching drinks for an extra 31 dollars.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Bon Appetit in all things, Food and life altogether!

We had a really wonderful evening. Loved the food, especially the mussel souffle and the scallop broth. The wines with each course complimented the food very nicely. Looking forward to attending again!

After participating in the 1st one which was absolutely amazing, my expectations were very high, but unfortunately not met. I found the food nice, but not exceptional and not experimental. I have been to both restaurants and I know that the food served there is far above what was served in this experimentation. I hope that next time it will improve. As for company and a social event, it's absolutely amazing. I find it always exciting and fun to talk to complete strangers while eating and drinking!

It was a most enjoyable evening. The menu was quite interesting and I think it would have flowed better if it had been possible to adhere to the original order of courses. As it was, the second cleanser was overpoweringly sweet, had it been served after axeeamy soufflé rather than the fresher flavours of the salmon dish, it may have worked better. My husband did the wine and food matching and enjoyed the choices the restaurant had made.

Great range of taste, prehaps a wider variety, not just seafood would be better. Loves a few of the dishes especially the mussel soufflé and the parfait & the cleansers ie scallop broth and watermelon sorbet. Would love to go again.
