This lecture offers important lessons learned from the Irish Peace Process about how communities can overcome what appears to be intractable violent conflict and work towards peace and stability. It is by John Alderdice, by profession a psychoanalytic psychiatrist and one of the negotiators of the 1998 Good Friday Agreement and Speaker of the new Northern Ireland Assembly. He is the recipient of many honorary degrees and awards for his work on conflict resolution in various parts of the world and is Chair of the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party in the House of Lords.
The organisation I work for (CASSE) is bringing Lord John Alderdice to Australia as guest speaker in a Public Forum on Reconciliation in Australia and for his input in CASSE's Aboriginal Program.
