Hi all, I've posted the text of the talk as it might have gone without hardware failure: http://puzzleduck.org/DevAdventures/da08.html there's also some extra setup steps that were skipped for the sake of brevity. Code here: code.google.com/p/lambda-leds/source/browse/ and the last two projects should run on a PC with the ascii display for those without a pi.

In response to the questions last night regarding performance: The application is mostly database-bound, so is probably not a good indicator of differences in performance between Java 7 and Java 8.

We have just over 100,000 lines of code, according to Sonar.

Hi there, I am not able to be with you tonight as another irregular meeting clashes. I am still having great fun with the MOOC - anyone else doing this? I ask because I'd like to know whether it is considered easy or hard. I would love to share the story sometime.
