Cheers Bernie. Great work again. Keen to hear what other troubles others are experiencing when moving to Java 8. If you got em, we'd like to hear what it was and if u found a fix. Thanks

Hi all, I've posted the text of the talk as it might have gone without hardware failure: there's also some extra setup steps that were skipped for the sake of brevity. Code here: and the last two projects should run on a PC with the ascii display for those without a pi.

In response to the questions last night regarding performance: The application is mostly database-bound, so is probably not a good indicator of differences in performance between Java 7 and Java 8.

We have just over 100,000 lines of code, according to Sonar.

Hi there, I am not able to be with you tonight as another irregular meeting clashes. I am still having great fun with the MOOC - anyone else doing this? I ask because I'd like to know whether it is considered easy or hard. I would love to share the story sometime.
