A lag in achieving business goals; loss of critical knowledge with departing employees; duplication of effort due to people not knowing who is doing what or has done what; silos of knowledge; culture of knowledge hoarding.
A holistic approach with looks at people, process, technology and associated practices such as change management, HRM, OLD etc. The practice will also depend on the KM (and IM/ICT) maturity of the organisation.
My professional focus is about helping organisations better harness & mobilise information & knowledge for positive action. I try to keep balance in life through tai chi, meditation & yoga and importantly keeping connected with friends & family
My first KMLF was as I had expected... exciting and igniting! A mixed group of people who shared thoughts freely. Knowledge sharing, networking and socialising - a great combination.
