I've recently moved to Melbourne from Sydney where I was a member of NSW KM Forum for several years. I look forward to meeting KMLFs and getting to know Melbourne.
How do you feel a lack of knowledge management impacts the organisation?
A lag in achieving business goals; loss of critical knowledge with departing employees; duplication of effort due to people not knowing who is doing what or has done what; silos of knowledge; culture of knowledge hoarding;
What constitutes good Knowledge Management practice in your eyes?
A holistic approach with looks at people, process, technology and associated practices such as change management, HRM, OLD etc. The practice will also depend on the KM (and IM/ICT) maturity of the organisation.

Thanks Nicky - interesting to me that you can pick a 'rural' flavour. Sometimes I feel I get a little off track and start to 'drown' in all the big stuff that is happening. I'm a great believer in the value and energy to be found at the grassroots, city and country.
