We have had a few changes in our Board of Directors that require that we elect a new Chairperson an additional board member.
Any member is eligible and can nominate themselves. The chairperson will be officially added to the corporation, so be sure to look into the roles, responsibilities and liabilities associated with the position before nominating yourself.
The chairperson duties include:
Authority to schedule and announce special meetings
Shall preside at all board meetings
Shall prepare agendas for meetings
Exercise parliament control for Robert's Rules of Order
Authority to make statements on behalf of the Makerspace
Authority to officially act on behalf of the Makerspace (sign leases, etc)
will be added to the corporate registration.
The additional board member is not an officially named position such as chairman, but they do act as an officer of the company and will be added to the corporate registration.
