Free Creative Photography Workshop

This is a free workshop (as in "free speech" and as in no charge)  that will focus on approaching the camera and photography with a heightened sense of awareness. When we are in this state of mindfulness or relaxed awareness we often refer to it as "the zone". By cultivating this relaxed awareness we develop our ability to access this state.

As we increase our awareness of our environment, our subject, the light, the camera, the images that we create, our own thoughts and feelings, we ultimately gain awareness of our selves and who we are, liberating ourselves from our own ideas and limiting beliefs and opening ourselves to the source of creativity.

We are all different and have a unique way of looking at things. When we are open we allow ourselves to develop our own perspective and approach to create truly special images in our own personal style.

Our aims will be to become more familiar with the state in which we create our best images, to slow down to be able to develop an authentic connection with our subject, seeing it for what it is, and to become aware of our state of mind. Our emphasis will be on developing our creative eye and not so much on technique, although any questions are welcome.

Every Creative Photography workshop is different with different activities and addressing different aspects of photography.

You may:

• use any kind of camera from a smart phone to a DSLR

• work at whatever level that you like

• bring any additional equipment such as reflectors, flashes, triggers, filters, tripods etc

• experiment with any photographic techniques such as macro, long exposure, off camera flash, HDR etc

Please contact me if you have any questions or comments.

As the sun is out is i've changed the venue to Royal Park. We'll meet on Gatehouse St where the Royal Children's Hospital end and the park begins near the corner of Story St. It's closer to Flemington Rd.
