Diving Flinder's Pier

As the dive later in the day is already full and has lots of divers I have decided to run an earlier dive. All things remain the same with the exception of the time. And, the later dive will still run. You can choose which dive you attend or if you do both. If you remove yourself from the later dive please update your reply. Thanks! You can find me by looking for the green Mazda 2 with roof racks. Hope to see you then.

Great to meet everyone yesterday. A good first Meetup trip. Perfect conditions and a good day to get in the water and cool off. Thanks to Suzanne for organising this additional early time and cheers to Frank for suggesting Rye afterwards for second dive. Great pics that have been posted too. Kudos to Yardy for diving in nothing more than board shorts as well.

Hey Suzanne, any chance we can get a few of the guys together next weekend (Sunday) to do a morning dive at rye?

      February 9, 2014

    • Suzanne P

Hi Laura, I am moving house on Friday so no chance of me having time to dive on Sunday. Send the request out to the organisers and I'm sure you will find someone who can do it. Enjoy!

Great dive at Flinders....saw a massive sting ray and a few weedy sea dragons. Went to Rye afterwards. It was boiling hot but saw another massive sting ray.

Perfect conditions..great video on my Gopro. Saw lots of weedy dragons and a number of fish. I'd forgotten how good this site can be on a good day. Perfect!

Hi Guys, Looks like we have perfect conditions for the dive. It is going to be a scorcher of a day so would be good to be getting to Flinder's a little before 10 and trying to get in the water pretty quickly. We have a bit of a walk down the pier and sadly there is no shade. See you then.

Suzanne you are better doing a shore entry and walk under the pier...you get wet then

      February 7, 2014

Tim, that's a good idea if the tide is in but it was right out and I think we may have sunk in the muck and be mud diving.

Hi Suzanne, unfortunately I couldn't organise a tank hire in time so I'll have to give this one a miss. Hope you have a great dive.

Anyone interested in a second dive? Probably at Rye Pier?

    February 7, 2014

    • Lydia

Were pretty keen for two dives, especially with the hot weather tomorrow! We'll just have to see if we can grab a second tank somewhere...

      February 7, 2014

    • Frank N.

I am hiring the tank from Scuba Academy and refilling the tank in Rye.

Hi Suzanne, will be coming to this earlier dive instead! See you then :)

    Hi Frank,
I would definitely be up for a second dive somewhere. Rye sounds perfect. Will catch up tomorrow and go from there if you like.

Hello, I live near the cbd (Brunswick west). Is anyone planning on car pooling down? Also- I'd need to rent all my equipment except snorkel gear. Is there a nearby dive shop? Does anyone know how much they charge?

    1 · February 4, 2014

    • Frank N.

I can give u a lift if you have all your gear as it will take too much time to stop and pickup gear as it is not really on the way. Normally, the shops allows you to pickup the day before.

Change of plans. I will need to get a scuba tank, so I will stop by a scuba shop, probably at Rye. Let me know if you are still interested, you probably have to call in advance to book for gear. My number is[masked]

Hi...does anyone have space in their car for one person? I live in st Kilda East and can chip in for fuel. I will rent gear from same place you are renting if it's on the way.

    • Yardy

Hi Dez. Yeah I have space for 1 person. I live in Glen Iris and that's where Academy of Scuba is for renting and I'll be picking my gear up there. Not on web much so best to contact me on[masked] if interested

Wanna dive at a second location after lunch?

    February 4, 2014

    • Suzanne P

Hi Frank, I have too much to do later in the day so wont join you for extra dive. Hopefully, some of the other divers may be interested. See you on Saturday.
