Hi Everyone, I’ve had an email from Barbara, the Co-Coordinator of Packages for Homeless project asking for our help to knit scarves. They’ll be included in the 300 care packages they’ll distribute to homeless persons in 3 major cities (Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne) this winter.
Packs4homeless is hosting Knitting Gatherings around the country for those who prefer to knit socially, or who would like to learn to knit. Attendance at a Gathering is free, as is any knitting tutorial or support given. You’ll need to bring your own knitting needles and yarn. Beginners are welcome!
You can find out more at the website (http://packs4homeless.jimdo.com) and Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/packs4homeless).
The website has the knitted scarf specifications if you’d like to knit or donate. http://packs4homeless.jimdo.com/how-can-you-help/donate-a-scarf-or-yarn/
The dates are also listed if you’d like to attend a Knitting Gathering. The next one is Sunday March 2 from 12-4pm at Treasury Gardens. http://packs4homeless.jimdo.com/how-can-you-help/register-for-a-knitting-gathering/
