Try an op shop. They always have a few, and they are generally in good condition.I've bought a couple of really good ones from oppies.

Subject: [Melbourne-Alternative-Crafters] Looking to buy a sewing machine any recommendations
I was wondering where I could get a second hand sewing machine around here? Or even a cheap sewing machine.
I'm new in town and with plenty of time on my hands want to get into sewing.
Sell your old one fast! Time for a new car?
