Food and drinks sponsored by PayPal.

Topics:

PayPal Mobile SDK - Jimmie Lindstrom, PayPal
This presentation will cover what’s inside the current PayPal mobile SDK and what will be released in our upcoming version. Jimmie will also show some use cases and have Q & A. PayPal will bring some merchandise such as USB sticks with preloaded SDKs for Android and iPhone.

The Art of Custom UI Controls - Sam Davies, ShinobiControls, UK
iOS/Androd provide a toolbox of around 20 controls, however, truly great apps often require something a little bit special. In this talk we’ll look at the important aspects of creating UI Controls - including UX design, visualization, API design, and technical considerations such as choosing the drawing technology and animation.

Mobile mapping tools - John Hasthorpe
John is a Senior Consultant at Esri Australia, a leading GIS technology company. With a background in GIS, John specialises in Esri’s Server and Mobile technologies. Referencing the ArcGIS for Developers site, the talk will cover the options for integrating ArcGIS maps, content and APIs from ArcGIS into mobile applications.

We all also take a look at the ways these applications can be marketed to both the GIS and non GIS community.

Example Tools and Services:

-Geocoding and Place Search
-Directions and Routing
-Mapping and Visualization Tools
-Store and Query Geographic Data In Feature Services
-Demographic and Contextual Data for Geographic Analysis

    Thanks for an interesting night!

I'm the Xamarin dev who stood up at the end - I forgot to mention that I'm currently looking for new work, on ios, android, and windows 8 (metro) development.

Please contact me if you or someone you know is looking to do a cross-platform project and maybe I can help.

    Thanks again.
    David.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
