Business session: Start from scratch or starting with an existing idea

Due to the hands of fate we have a business session this time with three awesome speakers:

Andrew Skinner / Vatic
Andrew brings his years of working with international companies to discuss the service proposition of your app and gaining client buy in (external and internal) for it’s development. Andrew will talk through tools, service blueprints, business model canvases and KPIs as well as understanding your audience and planning for the various inputs and outputs to your app infrastructure. For those of you working within internal teams, this will be an invaluable talk!

Cameron Burns / Appster
Cameron discusses what he sees as the 9 sources of capital for apps and startups looking to create apps, covering the positives and negatives of each one and how to manage them.

Tim Cooke / Flippa
Flippa is well known as a place to buy and sell web domains and sites, but did you know they also have an app marketplace? So if you're looking to be involved with an app without starting from scratch it could be the place for you. Tim will talk us through the marketplace and what it offers.

The session was good. It was a pity that one of the presenters had to drop out at the last minute. The post presentations discussions were valuable.

    Hi

I will now be an apology tonight. I was going to travel down from Bendigo. What I was hoping to get out of tonight was some good contacts with both android and apple app developers. I have developed a software program to enable non techies to create their own information apps. (www.makeit-appen.com) I am good on my side of things but I have reached my limit on the app side. I also get requests from people here in Bendigo to create apps, which is not my core business, I would love to be able to refer these people on to some one who could help them. If anyone would like to make contact with me you can inbox me on facelbook: www.facebook.com/MakeItAPPen

I will be in Melbourne on Thursday 27th Feb. 2014. if you would like to meet up. Thanks Julie

Apologies everyone, Flippa have cancelled at the last minute due to illness. Anyone else fancy stepping into the last minute fray for a business-esque talk?

    Hi MnM's,

I have founded a new music tech startup and this is our first, now crowdfunded, product:

    http://www.auug.com

I will be at this meeting (Feb 18) after 7.30pm so if you have any questions feel free to chat during speaker breaks or after.

In particular I am interested in talking to people who see the potential of the product, both as a musical instrument/controller and broader online service, and who might like to get involved.
