The Audubon Naturalist Course is designed for educators, conservation professionals, college students, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone interested in learning more about the environment. Over a 10-week period (1 day/week),participants are given a survey course in the natural world -from biology to meteorology, water quality, and much more in between! Participants are taught the processes that form and affect the landscape around them. The course focuses on habitats, native and exotic plant species, and key social and environmental issues affecting our planet. The most enticing aspects of the course are the range of topics covered and the quality of educators. Classes will be led by state biologists, geologists, ecologists, even a national meteorologist. Guest lecturers also include professors and scholars from local colleges and universities and field professionals.
Many are leaders in their field willing to volunteer their time to assist in this valuable program. Visit our website http://strawberryplains.audubon.org for more information, a list of course topics, and a link to last year's schedule.
