Eagle Lake (Shelby Forest) Deep Swamp Canoe Float meet at Visitor Ctr 12:45

WE DID THIS EARLIER THIS YEAR AND EVERYONE LOVED IT....

Shelby Forest (Eagle Lake) Deep Swamp Canoe Float - Sunday Aug 25 meets at the visitors center at 12:45 and we will car pool/caravan to the launch site.
Discover remote and seldom seen areas of Eagle Lake. Learn about the history of the area and the native flora and fauna as you are guided through the towering trees of the Bald Cypress swamp.  Get an excellent view of a large heron and egret rookery, see primitive fish splash by your canoe, and possibly glimpse a Bald Eagle.  I have reserved 10 spots $5 per seat.  Privately owned canoes and kayaks are welcome, but you are also expected to pay the $5.  Bring water, snacks, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, and clothes and shoes that can get wet and muddy.  Trips man be cancelled due to water level or weather. Cost is $5 a seat or $10 per canoe.

If it matters, I'd like to bring my own kayak. I'm assuming we bring the $5 in the form of cash?

Hi Howard. How long does the canoe trip last? I am assuming it will be directly after the hike? Correct? Thanks,

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
