Strawberry Plains Audubon Center Family Nature Hikes

This is a new regular hike (third Saturday of the month at 9am).  AND WHILE THIS IS A REGULAR HIKE - NATURE CHANGES EVERY MONTH, SO WHAT WE FIND WILL BE DIFFERENT.  SO COME BACK.  Family oriented and kid friendly.  We do lots of exploring - starting with a one mile shaded loop that takes us to two cemeteries, by the bear tree and next to the remains of old slave and/or sharecropper cabins.  Bring your cameras as there will be lots of photo opportunities.

We can hike more if the group desires...

Experience first-hand the natural and cultural history that makes Strawberry Plains so unique. Hikers have the opportunity to experience the many wonders of nature!   Hiker fees are only $3 per adult, the cost of our grounds admission, or the maximum of $10.00 per family.

Beautiful time of year for a visit. Also, it was great to get the information on the ecosystem and history of the plantation.

A beautiful day and a great nature walk. Hiked with a couple of beautiful friends and made some new ones. Thanks for sharing this part of the journey...

Planning on carpooling with Howard. Howard is the hike only a mile long or will you be doing a longer hike?

Could you tell me a little more about this Hike? Will it be more exploring or hiking? How many miles and what time do we return? Thanks ....:)

We start out with a one mile nature hike - more exploring (mostly in covered forest) - can last 1/2 to 2 hours depending on what we find and how much exploring we do. After that, we can do serious hiking if anyone wishes (mostly in open fields/sun).

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
