Birds and Blooms at Mt. Auburn Cemetery

Let's enjoy the serenity, beautiful plantings, and birds that visit this special place. Mt. Auburn Cemetery has been designated an Important Bird Area by the Massachusetts Audubon Society. It is a favorite bird watching destination for members of the birding community, especially well-known as a place to spot spring migrants.

Mount Auburn Cemetery is located on the Cambridge/Watertown line at 580 Mount Auburn Street, just off Storrow Drive. Drive into the Cemetery and park on any road without a green line.

We'll plan to walk the various roads slowly and explore this beautiful place for about 3 hours.

No dogs are allowed. Also, no food is allowed on the grounds.

For more information about the Cemetery, visit their web site: http://www.mountauburn.org/

Wonderful day! Collectively, we saw about 27 different bird species. Highlights included all the oriole activity - Baltimore and Orchard Orioles; a Wild turkey, a very rare visitor; the red-shouldered and Red-tailed hawks, and of course the Peregrin Falcon on our walk back from lunch. thanks for joining us!
