Andres Institute of Art and Parker's Maple Barn

Let's hike for 2-3 hours then head over to Parker's Maple Barn for a hearty breakfast or delicious lunch.

The Andres Institute of Art is a great place for a hike, for photography and for viewing these amazing outdoor sculptures by internationally known artists.  The mission of the Institute is that they "shall serve and advance the intellectual and social well being of the public by educating and training artists, by promoting the integration of art and technology, and by supporting fine arts."

Andres Institute is a free event--no admission to get into the park.  Everyone is invited to go to Parker's after our hike.

Since it's May in New Hampshire, be prepared with bug spray---lots of it...and don't forget your appetite.

More info and directions can be found here:

I am so glad that I didn't give up trying to find Andres Institute. Meeting everyone was such a pleasure and I look forward to more adventures with all of you. My mind is still in awe of the creativity and imagination of the artists. What a blessing that we are able to appreciate their gifts while enjoying a walk in the woods. Thank you Jane for organizing this event. Also thanks to everyone for sharing their photographs.

Great friends, beautiful location, great weather, delicious brunch. Doesn't get any better. Thanks Jane! Also, FYI, those bright green beetles we saw were not the invasive Emerald Ash Borer - they were common tiger beetles, who do a great job eating other insects.

I am happy to read that they were tiger beetles.

Did you know that you can get a volunteer to take you around and provide more info' about the sculptors? I had Darrold and he was very good.

Hello Marilyn, we did not get a guide, we went along just the group. It worked out very well. We will do another trip there later this year.
