My apologies to everyone for not making it. I had the Jeep loaded, ice in the chest, and food chilled in the fridge. Then I discovered the water line from the street to the house was leaking. I figured I better get that fixed.

Sounds like it was a good trip, wish I could have made it.

Great experience with packing in 100% of my own water. It was eye opening to see that what I think is enough, only comes close. I really loved hanging out with you all and look forward to doing it again.

Three questions: 1. Can I bring my little doggie? 2. If we are dry camping, will there be a place for garbage and grey water, or do we have to take those out with us? 3. What kind of fire restrictions, if any?

    March 31, 2014

    • Junette B.

Yep, that is what my dad used to say:) Can we bring firewood? what do we do with "grey water" & bathroom?

      April 7, 2014

    • Junette B.

I received your email with details-thanks!

I want to go and will plan on going if this is a kid friendly event. Any reason why my 10 & 13 year old daughters would be a problem. I don't mind if they are exposed to prepping & survival skills and conversations. My problem areas would be drunk or profane behavior or uber fear based end of the world conversations that would be hard to shield them from experiencing. I work to keep from robbing them of their childhood innocence by avoiding fear based conversations.

Tony, I am a special needs school bus driver, used to being around kids and making sure no one treats them inappropriately. It will be a great experience for your two girls! Some good role modeling for them.

Hi Tony, I understand your concerns and just wanted to say after attending several R U events, everyone I met has been very cool!

I work Fri & Sat. I can come out Sunday morning. Will you still be there and what time can I get there?

I just got your email about this being a bug out exercise. While I am very comfortable with dry camping, I am not yet emotionally or physically ready to do a total BOB camp experience. I will bring my up-to-date BOB however, and think about what I would need to be able to do that kind of camping.

    April 5, 2014

    • Michelle W.

Linda, I am not asking for a BOB excersize. I posed a discussion on Sunday to ask yourself IF you could have accomplished the trip with your BOB.

I marked "YES", but actually this is a maybe. Going to try to get my grandson to come too as he is learning about survival. Hope I can find this. Do we have paved roads or is it real rough roads? Thanks for keeping me informed.

    April 5, 2014

    • Dennis L.

All but the last mile or so is paved. The dirt road is very good and any car should be able to make it to the campsite.

So, I am not clear on this: do we need the Tonto pass? I plan to be there around noon on Friday.

    April 5, 2014

  • Dennis L.

Does this campsite require the Tonto Pass? Also, everyone remember to bring your radio and programming cable if you have one. If you do not have one, don't worry, I probably have one that will work. Hopefully I will be able to teach you how to program from the radio keypad.

Congratulations Brad. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

I plan to be there by noon on Friday. From the Google map you provided, I will set up in the green area by the wash. Randy, yes I still work, but all work and no play, well you know the answer. I am looking forward to next week.

don't thing anyone posted a final decision of where the event will take place

    March 31, 2014

Has a location been picked yet?

    March 27, 2014

    • Michelle W.

We are looking at one other spot today and will decide by tomorrow night.

      March 29, 2014

  • Tim P.

May be able to show up on Saturday.

    March 27, 2014

  • Ray A.

No longer set up for camping, but will be there for the day on Saturday.

    March 24, 2014

  • Thomas J

Coon Bluff or Phon D sutton would be a great locale

    March 24, 2014

  • Dennis L.

I will be there. I will bring all my radio equipment for setting up a station including HF capabilities. For the new folks, HF is the part of the bands that will allow us to talk around the world. You will NOT need a ham license to get on the air and talk. I can teach classes on anything radio related. I will be there Friday and Saturday and will leave Saturday evening.

    March 20, 2014

  • Don H.

I can do it! I'm new to the group, but am VERY eager to get out and practice (and share and learn) survival skills.

    March 20, 2014

  • gadinaz

Might be able to attend. Not getting any email updates, so had no idea this was posted.

    March 17, 2014

I work every Sat so I'm more of a maybe on being there

    March 17, 2014

Appreciate your commitment Linda, right now plan is for the group to meet Friday evening. Many may not have the option to be off Friday - including me!

I have an Outrigger race at Tempe lake April 12th. I'll look into maybe joining you guys that Saturday late afternoon / evening after the races.

    March 15, 2014

  • Michelle W.

Self contained. Good point Don. We encourage all to practice their bug out plan items.

    March 14, 2014

  • Don R.

Are we looking at being self contained or a location with facilities available?

    March 13, 2014

  • Greg H

tentative. I am on call that month for national disaster response.

    March 13, 2014

  • Michelle W.

Yes we are planning a Friday afternoon/evening arrival (for those that can do this) and a stay through Sunday. The current location being considered requires only a Tonto Pass.

I will give a tentative "yes" depending on the cost of the camping area. Sounds like it will be really great! Would this be for the entire weekend?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
