Introducing Meteor.js

  • Feb 5, 2013 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Meteor is the first open-source full stack platform for developing and deploying end-to-end JavaScript applications. With observable server side models, live DOM updates, latency compensation and smart synchronization baked in, it's a huge leap forward in tools for creating real-time collaborative web applications.

We will take a quick tour of Meteor - where it came from, what it is capable of today, where it seems to be headed, and what implications might be in store for the current generation of web frameworks like Rails and Django.

We'll also do a brief code walkthrough and demonstrate an approach to structuring a project in Meteor.
