Every month Meteor team is hosting a Devshop at Meteor HQ in SF. They started streaming the presentations live recently so it would be great to watch them together.

I won't be in Vancouver on the 31st, but Marc and Josh from Sqwrl ( kindly offered to organize the event this month and provide venue. Sqwrl is built using Meteor – what a coincidence :-)

Live-stream schedule:
7:00PM - Ritik Malhotra - Building a Production-Ready Meteor App
7:30PM - Chris Mather - Understanding the Event Loop, Async and Fibers
8:00PM - David Greenspan - New Rendering Model
8:30PM - Lightning Talks

-- Free Food & Drink --

Meteor has generously offered to sponsor the cost of food and drink for our live-stream watching party :)

I couldn't stay for the whole event, but it was really nice. Marc and Josh had everything organized and even go pizza and sushi for everyone. I don't really use Meteor right now, but the content of the presentation seemed really helpful that are working with it.

In addition to Mark's suggestion, depending on what you've read so far, I'd recommend reading the meteor docs, and to take a peak at the meteor talk google group. and!forum/meteor-talk

As for specifically for this devshop, Chris Mather will be giving a talk, he has a lot of good posts at his blog:

And David Greenspan will be talk about the new rendering model, which you can read more about here:!topic/meteor-talk/gHSSlyxifec

If you're serious about building a Meteor project I highly recommend Discover Meteor:

Hey! I'm actually just getting started with Meteor. Any suggestions for pre-reading so I can actually follow the discussions?
