Let's meet at 10:30 on Saturday morning on the sidewalk in front of Sunrise Assisted Living in Arlington Heights:

1395 Massachusetts Avenue Arlington, MA 02476-4101

By car: Do not park in the parking lot for Sunrise Assisted Living. Park on Mass. Ave in front of Sunrise Assisted Living. (Parking on the street is free. 2 hour limit--which should be fine for us.)

By bus. Take the MBTA 77 bus. It runs from Harvard Square, all along Mass. Ave through North Cambridge and Arlington. Take the 77 Bus to the end of the line. Then walk a hundred yards or so further along Mass. Ave. Sunrise Assisted Living will be on your right.

We'll meet on the sidewalk (not in the parking lot of Sunrise Assisted Living.) Then we'll run along the beautiful Minuteman bikepath, through conservation land, on very smooth, comfy asphalt. I'm thinking of running a mile or 2....but if you want to run farther, the Minuteman bikepath goes for many miles.

Hope to see you there!

    •  This was a very nice setting to run barefoot as it is a protected path on a beautiful route. Good for 1st time barefoot runners as it is removed from the street. Met up with Jim, Ken and Brian. Ran about 1.5 miles with Ken and Brian and then continued with Jim for about a total of 4 miles. We will have more of these shorter learning runs as many people are not experienced. Preston
    •  Four of us showed up for a short barefoot run on the bikepath. I am looking forward to more of these social runs. jim
    •  Four of us ran barefoot on the Minuteman Bikepath on Saturday, March 6. It was a beautiful day, and I had a great time; I think we all did. If you go to http://runwithKen..., you can see HD video of our group run, and a SLOW-MOTION VIDEO of barefoot running. It shows the amazing way our feet let us land gently with each stride. The consensus was that we should do it again. This weekend will likely be a washout, but if anyone would like to join me tomorrow (Thursday), let me know and I'll post a meetup notice. •  I really enjoyed the run and look forward to more - both the scenery and company were great. I've been running mostly in water shoes so it was nice to go 'au naturel'. There was one funny/uncomfortable moment when an older gentleman told us to wear shoes since we were ruining our feet... Of course, he was only trying to be helpful. How about making this run a weekend ritual?
