DC Supersonic Kirtan - March 2013

Join the DC Supersonic Kirtan All-Stars for a transcendental kirtan party that'll rock your socks off!

Kirtan is call-and-response chanting of sacred sound accompanied by the playing of musical instruments. This enlivening spiritual practice is an integral part of the tradition of devotional yoga called Bhakti yoga that originated in India many centuries ago. The mantras that we chant together leap directly from the spiritual world and awaken our connection to the Supersoul within each of our hearts. We chant together because when we do the experience is amplified way beyond what we can experience when we chant by ourselves. We believe that chanting is transformative, and we want to share it with everyone else too.

You needn’t be from India or do yoga or have a great voice or subscribe to any particular spiritual belief to enjoy kirtan – just bring your open hearts, dancing feet, and clapping hands! Kids are welcome. Chant sheets for the mantras are always provided.

Come chant with us and stick around for free vegan cookies afterwards!

Hi LJ - Dancing isn't just allowed, it's encouraged! :) Wear whatever is comfortable for you - there is no dress code. E
