BHAKTI YOGA BLAST!

an afternoon of ecstatic chanting, a discussion about the nature of spiritual form, and a delicious vegan / vegetarian feast!

with special guest

Ravindra Svarupa Dasa
This month, in addition to our usual super-rockin’ kirtan, we are thrilled to have the company of eminent devotional scholar and teacher Ravindra Svarupa Dasa, who will join us for a discussion of the concept of transcendental form in devotional yoga. What is “transcendental form”? Who has one? What purpose does it serve? Is it something that we can cultivate? How can it infuse our practice of mantra meditation with a greater depth of spiritual power?

CHANT yourself into an ecstatic state,
EDUCATE yourself about rituals of devotion,
and INVIGORATE your yoga practice with MORE BHAKTI!

SCHEDULE:
1-3pm – kirtan with the DC Supersonic All-Stars
3-4pm – discussion
4-5pm – more kirtan
5-6pm – feast

Kids love kirtan, so bring your kids!
Event is free, with donations gratefully accepted.

If you don’t have a car, please post to this page and we will do our best to help you find space in a carpool. The temple is also accessible by bus from Friendship Heights DC.

    Hello,
I will be coming from Rockville and am looking to share a ride with someone. I could meetup anywhere along the redline from Shady Grove to Tenleytown in case anyone is driving in from the city. Thanks in advance :) Also, happy to help with gas.

JM and Melissa do you think that riding together could be an option since you are both coming from Va? If not, let me know and I will look out for another ride for JM.

Bhakti Segar, there is no particular dress code. Just dress as you would for any church or temple. :) Not sure what style of drumming you do, but you are welcome to introduce yourself to the drummers and see if you think your style is a good fit. We are likely to have a tabla player and several mridungas if that tells you anything...

Hope to see you all there!

Hi JM! I think if you click on her name here, you get a screen that includes the option to send her an email. Let me know if that works. Otherwise, you are both welcome to email me at [masked] and I will try to put you in touch. :)
