Metro Denver CRES - Monthly Membership Meeting

A Holistic Approach to Regionalism
Adapted from two original presentations given to the Rocky Mountain Green conference of the USGBC in 2010 and 2011, this talk concerns the potential confluence of a design ethos based in regional character and influences and a paradigm shift towards a sustainable architectural environment.

About the Presenter
A licensed architect with over thirty years of experience, Mark Broyles, AIA, has practiced with architectural, landscape architectural and urban design firms in Virginia, Seattle, Washington DC, and London prior to locating in Denver in 2000. He was an original member of the AIA's Committee on the Environment and has been a champion of sustainable design for the entire span of his career. In addition to teaching sustainable building design principles, drawing, and design studio at CCD he is a regular invited critic at CU Denver's College of Architecture and Urban Planning. His home rooftop in Stapleton carries a 6 kW PV array and is producing 100% of his family's electrical needs.

Location

The address is listed above, but some people have had issues with Apple or Google maps taking them to the wrong location. The address is 538 E 17th Ave, Denver, CO 80203. The Tavern Uptown is directly across the street from Steuben's at the corner of 17th Avenue and Pearl Street in Uptown. For this meeting only, we will be in Sammie's Game Room (which is the private room adjacent to the patio)

The meeting format will be as follows:

6:00-6:30pm - Social time and networking
6:30-6:45pm - Announcements
6:45-7:15pm -  Presentation and Q&A
7:15-7:45pm - Wrap up and networking

During the announcements, we always welcome attendees to share announcements they have, including upcoming events and job openings with their organizations, so please come prepared to share with the group.

Light appetizers will be provided on a first come, first served basis.

This meeting is free for CRES members, and a donation of $5 is suggested for non-members.

Please note that for tonight's meeting, we will be in Sammie's Game Room instead of the Pool Room. Sammie's Game Room is adjacent to the patio.
