Last year, utilizing a one year grant from the Morgridge Family Foundation, The Pinnacle began the Green Initiative to reduce its carbon footprint. The distance we have come in just one year is amazing. Come and learn about The Pinnacle’s approach to teaching and learning about renewable energy. Learn how to excite tomorrow’s workforce in jobs and careers in renewable energy fields. Learn how you can help and how this approach to meeting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) goals can be incorporated into neighborhood schools.

The Pinnacle Charter School is in the process of implementing the largest solar array system on any Colorado K-12 public school. The 800 kW solar panels are expected to save The Pinnacle 50% in annual utility costs. Future plans include biodiesel to run 14 school buses, a high school level solar decathlon and school composting.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
