Redbud 20-Mile Bike Ride @ Lower Huron MetroPark (W of Romulus)

  • May 11, 2013 · 11:00 AM

If we are lucky, the glorious pink redbud blossoms will be at their peak to enjoy as we ride in this linear park along the Huron River, going @ 20 miles total on a paved, rolling hike-bike trail. Bring a brown bag lunch for after the ride. Helmet and water required; spare tube desirable. Leader: Joanne,[masked], [masked]

Great! It was a bit cold, but the redbud blossoms were amazing.

Hi, Deborah - Children are welcome with the proviso mentioned in the "Pages" material ( ... with a responsible adult, if they are able to behave appropriately and complete the activity.) In this case, since the trail is "out and back," if the distance proves too much for them (don't know their ages), it would be easy and safe for you and them to return early. Let me know if you have any concerns. Hope for good weather!

    Hi, Joe -
As noted in the description, "...20 miles total on a paved, rolling hike-bike trail." One could ride such a trail on any kind of bike, even a coaster-brake bike (in case you are old enough to know what that is!!!).

What kind of bike do you need mountain, cross, or road bike? Or what variation of surfaces are you riding on?
