Independence Oaks County Park Hike (NE of Clarkston)

  • November 3, 2013 · 12:00 PM

Hike 5-6 miles at a moderate pace through rolling, mostly wooded terrain with three large hills. The trails might sound crunchy with fallen leaves. When we get near the lake, we will hike quietly and maybe see the resident beavers.   We will visit the Nature Center to look at displays, enjoy a bathroom stop, then go hiking. Optional restaurant stop after.  Questions:  contact leader: Inge,[masked]H.

Meet:  noon in Bloomfield Township in the Costco parking lot near McDonalds on Telegraph (east side) north of Square Lake Rd.

Ran into the group as they were coming out of the nature center, but we decided to do the 2.4 mile hike around the lake instead of the longer one. Beautiful outside, lots of walkers and hikers. Great idea.

Tim, I spoke with Inge and she said meet at the Nature Center parking lot between 12 and 1230. I will try to be there at 1215. Drive until the road ends and turn right and go all the way around until you reach the parking lot. I will meet you there.

What time/place do you think you will be at the park? I'm coming from the north so much closer for me.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
