My name is Kay and I am the Lead Organizer for 50+ Fun Grown-Ups. I took this on because I have a passion to help folks enjoy a higher quality of life. The bi-annual dues come out of my own pocket and I don't demand anything in return from you beyond courteous, hospitable behavior.
We are a group of diverse people, empty nesters or soon to be ones, singles and couples who seek to live life to the fullest, meet and mix with people of a similar mind-set, network, help each other out from time to time and have as much fun as possible during their so-called "Midlife Crisis".
Whether it's hiking, biking, a trip to the Zoo, Happy Hour at a Dive-Bar, Karaoke, movie, a concert, dancing, theater, bowling, baseball, pool or just plain nonsense--we're grown ups who still wanna have fun.
We don't do "roll-call". We'll know you're there if you show up. But, out of courtesy, if we have an event venue that we had to reserve, please inform us if you had a change of plans.
The activities are limitless and the suggestion line wide open. Better yet, anyone who wants to post Events, even Yard/Garage/Estate Sales and Business Mixers, simply contact me and I will assign you as an Event Organizer so you can post Events at your discretion.
We also have a "discussion" board which you can freely use. It's a great way to fly ideas by the members and get input.
The Group page can also be used to Market your wares, but best to keep that to a minimum. I also like to provide a data base of resources, i.e. plumbers, electricians, mechanics, etc. as these seem to be appreciated. So, if you'd like to provide that kind of information, feel free to do so.
Note: If you are uncertain as to whether or not to post something, you can run it by me first. I've made enough mistakes by this time to know what should or should not be posted.
If you decide to join, I highly recommend that you adjust your communication settings to fit your needs, particularly if you don't want to receive a lot of e-mails.
Positive communication and participation are the foundation of Omaha 50+ Fun Grown-Ups so come join us!
Best, Kay R- Organizer
P.S. I also have a separate Group to include folks in their 40's. It is named "Gen X Plus" and covers the age range of those born from 1955-1985. I welcome those in the age range noted to join and invite folks you know to join as well. The more the merrier.
P.S.S. I'm also the Lead Organizer of a 3rd Group- Omaha 30+ Women- and all who fit that bill are welcome to join.
