HISTORY RIDE TO ANDERSONVILLE GA.
History comes alive in Andersonville the first weekend in October when hundreds of Civil War re-enactors set up camps and stage two realistic mock battles, the first at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, and the second at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013. Gates open at 10 a.m. both days.
The first big activity is the 80-unit parade on the main street on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at 11 a.m. Admission to enter into Andersonville for this event is $4 for adults, $1.50 for children 12 and under. . The Welcome Center do have patches for those who wish to purchase them they are $1.75 to $2.75…… one says Andersonville the other say Unit of Sumter flying.
