Framingham Movie Meetup: "Star Trek," 6/2

Sunday, June 2, 5:30-5:40 p.m., AMC Cinema, 22 Flutie Pass, Framingham, MA

This is a Framingham Movie Meetup to see the new "Star Trek" movie at the AMC Cinema in Framingham. Right now the movie is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. (non-3D version), so we will start to gather about 5:30 and then at 5:40 I'll see how many are there and will get in line to get tickets. You'll have time to visit the concession stand before we go into the movie theatre. I will have discount passes that will cost $8 per person (regularly $11.25). Exact change is helpful.

We will be meeting in the first (interior) lobby, to the right of the ticket counter. I will be wearing a small "Meet Up" badge. After the movie, anyone who wishes to can go out to a local restaurant together to talk or to discuss the movie. Please remember to update your RSVP if your plans change.

Star Trek Into Darkness

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

Running Time: 2 hr. 3 min.

Thanks again, Sandi! While there was plenty of action, I thought the plot was too predictable. However, I am not a "Trekie" and am glad others felt it was good.

Had an anniversary event to attend. Otherwise, I would have joined you. I did see it; liked it enough to want to see it again.

The movie was very good and most of the group went out afterward, which was really enjoyable. Glad to see everyone there!

Excellent. Great combination of adventure and personal connections. Honored the original series, and also moved forward into the future for the franchise. May it live long and prosper!

Is 6 pm still matinee price? Prior to "Gatsby", I can't even remember the last time I went to the show.

Can I put this as a maybe? I'm going to a wake that starts at 2p.m. I think it's going to be a huge turnout for this person. However I think I'm going to need a movie or something to relax me after that. Sorry for the tmi.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to change my RSVP. I have something going on in the afternoon that will prevent me from being able to make the earlier time :-(

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
