Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade 2011 - Dallas Gay Pride Parade

More Info We (The, Metroplex Atheists, and Fellowship of Freethought Dallas) are Entry #73 in this year's Dallas Gay Pride parade. Our staging area is listed above. You are on your own to find parking, so I suggest you arrive early and plan to walk a few blocks to our staging area.

• We will use Randy Word's pick-up as a support vehicle. It will carry coolers, water, and those who cannot walk the entire parade route. The MAs wil l provide two coolers. Bottled water would be a welcome contribution.

• Those of us who are "staging" (Randy Word, Laura Cox, etc.) must be in our designated space between 11:00 and Noon.

• Other participants may arrive as late as 1:30. The parade steps off at 2:00 sharp.

• Alcohol/drugs are not allowed in the staging area.

• Ummm ..."parade participants may not expose genitalia, buttocks, or female breasts." (Transgenders must use your own judgement, I guess.)

• No "simulated sex acts." Just in case you were considering the option.

• Protestors do show up, but do not engage them. You'll be arrested and put in a paddy wagon with them. Oops! Suck!

• We will be in the heat for about four hours. Plan accordingly. Early arrivals can walk to get food and drinks from various Cedar Springs restaurants.

• If you are really concerned about the rules, visit

• MA and FoFDallas t-shirts will be available from

Great news! You can take DART to the Market Center Station, walk about 15 minutes to our line-up spot, walk back to Market Center and take the Green line to the West End Station for dinner! I suspect parking will be difficult in Oak Lawn.

We are gathering for an early dinner after the parade at The Spaghetti Warehouse in Downtown Dallas. Ask for a reservation under "Laura Cox" or DFWCoR.

I have made reservations for 40 at about 4:30. They will provide separate checks. If we estimate that our group will be larger, I will call to see if they can accommodate us.
