I would love to hear about any Athiest charity organizations that are out here in the DFW, Tx area.
I really HATE how all these churches use charity & "helping" others just as a way to suck poor "souls" into their masses. I know we Athiests are just as, if not more caring for our fellow man than any church, & we need to start showing people that there is charity and helping others without a catch, & without us wanting anything in return, & yes...without a God. Please let me know if such organizations exist, & if not please lend me your input on how we can start some. It's time people are good just for the sake of being good...not because they're trying to earn a seat in Heaven. BTW, I live in Burleson, Tx ...so I'm sure you know what I deal with on a daily basis...lol. |

Yes, I am very intolerant of INTOLERANT PEOPLE. You are just fooling yourselves if you believe Christians don't believe what their Bible tells them. I was a Christian & it was the intolerance of other people which caused me to leave. Either they are telling you what you want to hear, or they are not TRUELY Christian followers.
The irony of it all is I sought out this place of which I believed to be FREE THINKERS, but ONE must allow a "Free" Thinker to THINK & SPEAK "FREELY" without being judged, even if everyone does not agree. This place Is OBVIOUSLY NOT a meeting of FREE THINKERS, & comes off very much like a close-minded church. Case in point, I was kicked out of a Free Thinking group for speaking my mind, how insane is that? This place is just as criticizing & judgmental as a Church, & that is EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid. I think you people need to look in the mirror & take a serious look at yourselves, because you're just as bad as they are. I'm sure nobody will read this, because you censor like a dictatorship, but you could have atleast been man enough to let me say my rebuttal before you kicked me out. |

The only member we have ever dropped from this Meetup is someone using the name "Bill 12_81_83".
If you are him the real irony is that Bill 12_81_83 was dropped because he was very critical and extremely judgmental. When responses to his criticism and intolerance were presented, he did not respond to those in a conversational manner but continued his rants against Christians and his criticism of this group. One of the members pointed out that perhaps Bill 12_81_83 was just a troll trying to get a rise out of us. I'm told that the thing to do about a troll is to ignore him. I have violated this rule by posted this so that other members reading the previous post will have an idea about what has happened. I find myself unable to resist pointing out the irony of a confession of being very intolerant of intolerant people. |

Actually No...
How soon we forget that we(& by we I mean you) deleted my account membership, so unfortunately I could not let people know how cowardly you were by not letting me respond to your claims of me being intolerant, & then you said I was being like a "xtian" which means you agree with me that Christians are very intolerant since I was being more like them than an Atheist. I don't think I need to point out the irony of your statement. Secondly, I think you need to look up the term "troll", because it has no meaning here. I'm not someone on the Internet trying to provoke, or annoy. Nor do I hide behind a computer monitor as some sort of "Cyber Bully" who couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper towel. You saw me at the Darrel Ray event, & I'm sure you'll agree I can back up my words & have no need to "hide behind" anything. It's not a threat, just a fact...plus I have no need to make you look more foolish than you have already done to yourself. Your group is not of "FREETHINKERS" & I think there's no need to explain why. IF you want to "Believe" that Christians have no problems with homosexuals or heretics, you are deeply deluding yourselves'. I was simply stating the FACT that no matter how much a Christian says those things do not affect them they are either lying, telling you what they think you want to hear, or are NOT TRUE BELIEVERS! Christians worship God, & supposedly the Bible is the word of God...therefore they worship & believe what he teaches. Which if you have taken the time to read it, you would know that the above mentioned people are DAMNED TO HELL FOR ETERNITY, & these people who lie to your face know this. IF you want to keep "Believing" that they don't, don't worry you're not the first group to ever believe in fairytails & be in a state of delusion/denial. I no longer wish to be a member of your group, because I believe in a REAL idea of "FreeThinking". I am not scared, & have not been chased off...I just simply decided it's not for me. Good Luck with your "Homosexual Tolerant Christians" (OXY-MORON) & get used to Circular Logic. P.S. Thank you Libba for my dinner, I'm sorry I'll never get the chance to return the gesture. -Bill 12_81_83 |

Well, that last post indicated he no longer wants to be part of this group and will quit. It appears he may have had difficulty with that process. I hope it's not out of line, but I helped him with his stated goal, and removed him from the group. Maybe that's the end of that.
I hope that episode is not what caused the original poster to leave the group. I look forward to chatting about this type of situation at our next meetup. |
