Rothenburg ob der Tauber (German pronunciation: [ˈʁoːtənbʊɐ̯k ɔp deːɐ̯ ˈtaʊbɐ]) is a town in the district of Ansbach of Mittelfranken (Middle Franconia), the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany, well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world. In the Middle Ages, it was an Imperial Free City.
Rothenburg is 1:30 to 2:00 from Stuttgart. We would meet at the Hauptbahnhoff at 8:00AM and leave Stuttgart NLT 8:15 AM and hike one of the circuit hikes that starts and ends in Rothenburg. If we finish by 14:00 we would also take the English language city tour (7 euros). We would get something to eat/drink before heading back to Stuttgart.
It looks like it will be a great hiking/touring day based on today's weather report.
I am going to limit the attendees to 4 (me plus three others). If you can also drive, let me know how many you can take and we will bump up the limit.
This should be both a very nice hike and an interesting visit to a historical city.
