Lewes Hills circular:

• 16 miles

• A strenuous hilly walk with a fast pace

• Take the 9:17 from London Victoria (9:23 Clapham Junction), arr. Lewes 10:22

• Bring packed lunch, pub stop at end of walk.

Walk leader is Orson.

This walk is part of the winter fitness walks aimed at keeping fitness levels higher during the shorter days.

Due to the lack of daylight this walk will be held at a fast pace and will have several steep assents and descents. Some may find this walk difficult.

Try us free! You are welcome to try up to three walks before joining, and there are new members on most walks. Membership costs just £32 per year (concessionary £19.50). Once you've tried out a few walks and decided you like us, join Met Walkers.

Please note the following:

The number of attendees shown on Meetup is not reflective of how many will turn up. We advertise our walks in a number of places and you will find a good sized group of walkers on each walk.

At the meeting point we don't hold up a Meetup sign however you will recognise us as we really do look like a group of walkers in their 20s to early 40s and any of the walkers there can confirm they are Met Walkers.

The group host identified on Meetup is usually different from the actual walk leader. The walk leader is identified on the description of the walk and contact details are provided.

Hi, Are we booking the train tickets individually, as a group, or on the day?, and does anyone know the return time and/or if there is any price difference between getting the tickets in advance online, or just on the day.

You can get 'advance' type tickets sometimes for this route although they're often on slightly cheaper than a flexible 'off peak' ticket. Many of our members use Network Railcards or Gold cards/annual travelcards to get 1/3 off the tickets to walks.

We expect to finish just before dark when some will get a train and some will go for a post-walk drink.
