Carnitas workshop!!!

Carnitas means “little meats” the name is given to the pork when this is fried first in its own fat, and braised after adding water or orange juice, cola, beer and in some places even milk.

The traditional way of cooking Carnitas is adding the whole pork in a copper pot, which disperses the heat evenly. Different states in the country uses different condiments like, salt, chili, cumin, oregano, garlic, bay leaf or thyme.

Carnitas are famous for its delicious taste, all around Mexico, but the most popular places to eat them are Michoacan, Queretaro and Guadalajara. Carnitas are usually served in tacos or with fried beans, Ranchera sauce, Mexican sauce, coriander, onion and chile. If you ever visit Guadalajara, you cannot miss the unique experience of Tortas ahogadas, which is salty bread, filled with carnitas, seamered in tomato sauce and chili.

Come and enjoy the pleasure of cooking and eating traditional Mexican food with great company and a lovely environment.

You will learn how to cook the following menu:

*Fried beans

*Salsa Ranchera

*Salsa Mexicana

*Green Tomatillo chili

*Traditional Mexican drinks

In the workshop, it will be available, water, coffee and tea and a special Dessert.

No skills are needed; just your lovely self and a good palate J so come and enjoy with us the pleasure of cooking and eating.

Hi, looking very much forward to attend this one! a couple of questions... can I bring my 2.5yr old daughter? I am making babysitting arrangements, but just in case... how long will the workshop last?

Hi Claudia, I am very sorry to heard that, it is a shame you could not find a babysitter :( I love babies and would love to have your daughter here, but my concern is the safety as we work with knives and hot pots so it is a risk place for a baby during the preparation process. Sorry again and I really hope to see you another time. Cheers Sandra

Hi Sandra, thanks. No need to feel sorry, I know how it is...specially if you have other people around busy with the cooking. Hope to be able to join next time!
