Introduction

Hello Mr. Edin Chavez, My name is Jason Fikes. I am an aspiring professional photographer, though I am still in the beginning stages. I appreciate the chance to meet with you and others who enjoy photography. I look forward to August 19th!

What is your favorite style of photography?

I enjoy photographing people who are not aware they are being photographed. (such as in street photography etc...) This is not because I enjoy being sneaky, but because I enjoy catching people who are behaving naturally and their natural habitat.

What kind of photographer do you consider yourself?

I would say that I am an observant type of photographer. I am a people watch by nature, so I like to observe different scenes and catch the moment on camera.

What do you expect to get out of the group?

I'm not too sure exactly what to expect, but I would like to see how different and more experience photographers go about their photography. I always like to see different perspectives on things, and if I have a perspective that may benefit someone else, I love that as well. I'm still new, so hopefully I can learn some new tips and techniques, hopefully do some good networking, and learn as much as possible. And of course, enjoy the day.

What kind of activities would you like to see in the group?

Taking specific kinds of shots, and comparing them. I would like to see how others approach the same types of pictures that I take. That way, I can get different perspectives and techniques to keep in mind, as I am still developing my own style.
