On May 3, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. the Masonic Philosophical Society will be hosting a study group at the West Dade Regional Library. Each month a different topic, ranging from philosophy and science to religion and metaphysics, is discussed and debated.
May's topic will be conducted by Bro. Matias Cumsille on Freemasonry, Symbolism and Intelligence. Is the ability to interpret Symbols a measure of intelligence?
A symbol is an object that represents or suggests an idea, belief, or action and are the basis of our mind. These abstract patterns found throughout nature are used by the our mind to process sensory information and to synthesize new concepts; therefore, can the human mind be measured by its ability to interpret symbols? After a short lecture a discussion and debate by the group will follow.
Join us for this month's study group as we examine ourselves under our own microscope.
This group, which is open to the public, is where non-members can learn more about Freemasonry, as well as meet local Freemasons.
