Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

With its phenomenal human-made and natural resources, Vizcaya was built in the 1910's, a decade in which Gilded Age cultural standards were enlivened by the irreverent spirit of the dawning Jazz Age. It also introduces visitors to Miami’s place in this history—a time when America’s wealthiest industrialists created lavish homes inspired by the palaces of Europe.

All the info is below, it's 15 bucks a head and parking is free.

Nice venue. Would rate 4.5 if I had the option -- sorry more people couldn't make it out, but realize it was early in Miami time. ;)

Having not been to Vizcaya in 6 years, I was excited to return and spend a great afternoon at this majestic property. Truly unique, it's hard to imagine there's anything else like it in Miami. As an old house and history buff, I enjoy events like this that let us glimpse into an extravagant life, and a time that once was, but will never be again. Think Biltmore estate or many of the Newport mansions. Thanks to Erik for planning this culturally aware and fascinating event. Maybe the Flagler home could be a future item.

  • have a group photo
  • are "public" and not "private"
  • have shown they are likely to stick around (older than 30 days)
