"We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master." ~ Ernest Hemingway
This is a forum for serious authors who are committed to offering and receiving high-level feedback, support and professional advice with other writers, in pursuit of literary excellence, with the goal of publication in legitimate professional venues. We welcome works-in-progress in all genres, but with a focus on works destined for print. Writers of other genres are encouraged to seek out any of a number of writers' groups in the area with those areas of emphasis. We meet twice each month on the South Bend campus of Ivy Tech Community College, 220 Dean Johnson Boulevard.
Please read the above profile and our Bylaws page carefully to determine whether you will be a good fit with our mission.
Admission as a member is determined by submission of three writing samples and follow-up interview.
The three samples may be any of the following, adding up to a total of 10-20 pages:
1. A collection of poems or one long poem
2. The first two or three pages of a short story with outline
3. The first two or three pages of a chapter of a novel, plus an outline for that chapter and synopsis of the entire work
