A Very Muddy Play Day

Wayne County hosts a very fun and VERY muddy play day for children at the Nankin Mills area of Hines Drive each summer...Lots of water and tons of mud make for a child's fantasy and every mothers nightmare! You wouldn't believe how muddy these kids get! Thankfully the Western Wayne HAZMAT Team is on hand to hose everyone off afterwards! The fun starts at 11:00 am and concludes at 1:00 pm. If you're looking to create interesting, muddy pics with lots of beaming smiles then this is a great opportunity! Nankin Mills is located on Hines Drive just south of Joy Rd.

What a beautiful mess! It was fun shooting so many happy kids today! Glad everyone that made the effort was rewarded with ideal conditions for a very fun Mud Day! Wayne County does this every year...26 and counting...If you missed this, you may want to mark this one on your to do list for next summer!

Had a blast! Because I was on my lunch hour and had to go back to work, trying to stay clean was a challenge. Since this was my first meet up with this group, I didn't get to meet any of the other members because I didn't know anyone...only Jack because he looked familiar from the picture! Hopefully on Friday I will meet more. Can't wait to see some pictures!

Sorry I missed it Eoh! Spent four hours waiting for my car, then have to leave it overnight anyway. :-( Looks like Mud Day was a blast!

Hey Deb, it was a lot of fun! If your car is not ready on Friday, I can come get you if you like. Didn't plan on going to DBN but can if you still want to go to Ann Arbor.

I was there Sandy but covered in mud! What a hoot. I'm going again next year. I did find Jack but I didn't see you.

    Ioanna,
At least you found Jack! LOL
I didn't see any members that I knew, but then again, maybe were covered in mud as much as me! ;-)

Ugh, car trouble. Sorry to miss it and hope you had a great time! Need to get it fixed so I can make it to the car show in Ann Arbor Friday. :-)

Looking forward to this...silly question, should we consider bringing tripod or are we going to be standing in mud too and it would be too difficult.

This sounds like fun! And being pretty much in one general area [I'm assuming], it wouldn't have to require a lot of walking. Is it possible to rsvp with a maybe? I'm having surgery in June and it'll depend on how I'm doing...

Absolutely! Don't worry there's not much walking here...And here's to a speedy recovery!

My daughters have run in the color run before...I am planning to shoot it this year...I've been advised to use a telephoto as the paint throwers are quite aggressive!

I used my[masked] lens - the color tossers were not too bad but the stuff just gets everywhere. We went last year and although we didn't run, we had enough color on us to say we did. LOL
